You can only buy the kmac through the following methods:

1. Buy it through the buy and sell page
2. Wait for the 2nd round kmac group purchase. (probably within 3 to 5 months)

Also, they have the k-mini and k-pad group buy currently going on. I think the deadlines until today.

Wow nice to hear that a new round of group buy is coming up, hopefully either geekhack (site will be up by then???) or deskthority will be able to organize a group buy for people living outside of Korea.

Another question if you dont mind me asking is what exactly are these four sections for: sell and buy, market info, purchasing and request, im guessing purchasing is for group buys and sell and buy is for individual purchases?? but what are the other two sections for?? kinda confused right now.....

Anyways thanks for replying and i guess as for now i will give it a try in the sell and buy section as u suggested

btw k-pad looks sexxxxxxxxxxxxxy

Market info is for information concerning new products, products in taobao/ebay/auction and group buy announcements. Request is sometimes used for group buy demand studies.

surfing this site with google translator helps a lot really.

The hard part is creating thread to ask question with google translator hoping that people can understand the translation.

hi folks,

I think some of titles of the sections need to be fixed.
Mapping onto Geekhack is as follows:

Sell and Buy  ----> Classified
Market Info ----> Great Finds
Purchasing ----> Group Buys
Request ----> Interest Check (for GB)

Enjoy!

^ Thanks for clearing that up

By the way maybe someone should suggest a english classified section as i know lots of people from geekhack and deskthority are interested in korean keyboards, that would certainly help!

Zoon 2012-07-22 23:38

My personal opinion is that even if the classified section for foreign users were made, it would not be very active.

The biggest problem would not be the language barrier but rather the demand/supply balance. Even now the demand

for customized keyboards are so high that you would have to be lucky to get your hands on one. (If you can sell it

in Korea, why go through the hassle of selling to foreign users?)

The hassle mentioned above being payment and resolving possibile problems. You would require a credible middle

man to perform the payment and check the product prior to the transaction. Also, if any problems does arise during

transport, it would take a long time just to resolve it.

Maybe make a guide for how to register for Paypal in Korean.

This seem to be the major barrier.

Shipping isn't a big problem, since Korean shipping fees for the fast service is very cheap. Just need to get through the psychological barrier of shipping something overseas. Language, well, anyone can help with that. But payment is the major headache.

Another big issue would be the A/S. If the product is defective, what then? Send it back to Korea to get it fixed?

Will take a long lead time.

1. Sending to Overseas: Give or take 1 week

2. Finding the problem: 1 week

3. Send back to Korea: 1 week

4. Confirm and send back non-defective item (hopefully): 1 week

Approximately one month and a cost of USD 100 (For the shipment back and forth)

paypal is no problem. because we are using e-bay and amazon. so we need to use paypal.

big problem is A/S. right.

sharqp 2012-07-27 06:20

Sorry but what does A/S mean?

After Service (Warranty)

NekoMaO 2012-07-31 07:56

hello, to be honest, these exotic keyboard are too precious to me, if i've succeeded in purchasing them,  they will mostly end up in collection and kept in perfect condition, if there's any problem regarding to key switches, i think replacing them shouldn't be any problem. i don't really care about the warranty.

Regarding about the after service, i do think the koreans provided top notch quality, therefore, i have high trust in them. =)

I heard there might be a second run of these in the future, so I guess just keep your eyes pealed, and wallets ready.

sharqp 2012-08-01 11:13

Wallets always ready for kmac lol

NekoMaO 2012-08-01 19:00

i have my wallets ready for the Kmac, will buy if i see the news, the only thing i fear is the limited runs, or short time for organizing, i always missed out. like the KMAC Mini. i'm sad.

sth 2012-08-08 08:47

everything worked against me for the last group buy. i'm hoping there is another kmac mini group buy soon.

sth 2012-08-08 13:06

It would be a hassle but it should be a risk people are willing to take to import goods overseas.

Bo0st 2012-08-30 04:43

I shouldve got the tenkey pad -_-
